Indy…Or not! Jimmie Wins!

Filed under: Race Recap — Chavaun @ 11:43 am

I thought I was dreaming, in between the snoozes Sunday afternoon. When my eyes were finally able to focus- it really was Jimmie Johnson in Victory Lane. For once, it was not the driver of the 18 car, Kyle Busch. Although, had it not been for the tire issues and the ridiculous amount of caution flags, it very well could have been Kyle kissing the bricks at Indy! (more…)

Fuel and Fun Give Dale Jr win @ Michigan!!

Filed under: Race Recap — Chavaun @ 8:54 pm

Finally! Is the only word that I can mutter now. I am ecstatic, overjoyed, thrilled and yes a little biased. My favorite Nascar driver finally broke his 76 winless race streak and gained his first points win for Hendrick Motorsports. What a great day it was. The starting grid was set by points standing this week, due to the rained out qualifying session on Friday afternoon. (more…)

LMS-Coke 600 with Kyle Busch on the Pole

Filed under: Editors Choice — Chavaun @ 9:05 pm

I am just about to have a nervous breakdown. I don’t know how may more weeks I can take of Kyle Busch winning poles, races, etc. Maybe I am just a little biased because of the fact that I am a JR fan?? I just knew with JGR going to Toyota that they would struggle and Kyle would not be this shining star…but the fact is, he is the man. (As I’m choking on my words right now.) I am a big enough person to admit when I am wrong. And JGR and Kyle Busch are the originization to beat this season. (more…)

Talladega-All it was expected to be!

Filed under: Race Recap — Chavaun @ 9:34 pm

What a weekend at Talladega. Way to go JGR. So, I’m not sure if I’m more surprised or irritated. I was seriously looking for HMS (Dale Jr especially) to capture a win there today or yesterday for that matter. Kyle Busch is the man though. He is always digging and working so hard to put together a win, no matter what he is driving. My only question? Can someone please get that man some other, very expensive black or brown glasses?? I can’t seem to get past the “GOLD” glasses he wears every weekend. It is driving me partially insane. (more…)

Will the Big Guns Show up at Texas?

Filed under: Editors Choice — Chavaun @ 8:34 am

So we all know that Dale Earnhardt Jr captured the pole position this week at Texas. But does he have enough to go 500 miles at the 1.5 mile track and get his first points win for HMS? Of course, all of us JR wants are down on our knees praying for a win. The fact of the matter is that we can’t forget about the other drivers who have had success in the past. First of all lets not forget that Jimmine Johnson and Jeff Burton each shared a win in 2007. The 2007 spring/fall race, and Spring 2006- the 17 car of Matt Kenseth pulled up in 2nd place. Is Matt finally tired of coming up just a little short? We’ll have to wait it out and see, he will be starting 8th this afternoon. (more…)

Denny Hamlin wins at M’ville!!

Filed under: Race Recap — Chavaun @ 9:22 pm

So I gotta say I did not do too bad at all. Denny Hamlin took the checkered flag in his home state of Virginia today. My pick did come up 5th today with my all time favorite driver Dale Jr coming in 6th. Todays race was exciting and fun to watch, something that has been lacking in the Sprint Series since February.

Big news after the win? Elliott Sadler put in a performance of his career today, with a 15th place finish at a track that takes its toll on the body while he fought with a severe ailing back. Hendrick also had a good showing today as all four teams finished in the top 10. Jeff Gordon was the highest finishing HMS drivers, coming in 2nd. (more…)

Martinsville! Who did I pick?

Filed under: Uncategorized — Chavaun @ 10:12 am

So, I have not been around for a while-vacation and just plain ol’ busy. Now, we are just about 90 minutes away from the green flag dropping at Martinsville. I am going to go against the grain on this prediction. Yes, I agree Jeff and Jimmie are the prime suspects to pick up the green flag but to be honest I think we got some other big dogs to pick on. I am gonna put my money on Tony Stewart who will be starting 9th. The top five, I will bet on Jimmie Johnson, Denny Hamlin and possibly (my favorite) Dale Earnhardt Jr. Hoping for a good, exciting race and I’ll check back in after the race.

Good Luck to all you favorite drivers!

Who will win Atlanta, you really wanna know?

Filed under: Editors Choice — Chavaun @ 9:45 pm

The fastest track on the circuit is upon us and you may have made your predictions or wishes that your favorite driver wins. So let’s take a more realistic look at the past winners as AMS. Statistically, Jimmie Jonson should probably win this Sunday, but is that going to happen? In my opinion, the answer is no. Some favorites to keep eye on, or put your cash on has to the Carl Edwards or Dale Earnhardt Jr.? Why you may ask? Carl Edwards is on a winning streak, he is frustrated he got docked 100 points for his Vegas win, and well he runs very well with the best average finish of any active driver (8.7). Dale Jr has the 4th best finishing record, and now he has the equipment to run up front, and actually finish a race. Jimmie swept Atlanta last year, but he seems to be off to a bit of a slow start this ‘08 season.

This weekend should be alot of fun. I am going to go ahead and put it out there…..Dale Earnhardt Jr is going to win The Kobalt Tools 500 this weekend. Just wait and see…..

Carl Edwards makes it Two in a row!

Filed under: Uncategorized — Chavaun @ 8:12 am

Jack Roush, and the entire Roush-Fenway orginization must have had a very busy off-season. After a less than stellar ‘07 season, the Roush team is making their presence known on the track. Everyone was abuzz about HMS and RCR coming into the season but the first three races have been won by major surprises. LMS saw Carl Edwards, David Ragan and Greg Biffle all in the top 10. (more…)

California Dreamin’..of a sell-out?

Filed under: Editors Choice — Chavaun @ 9:46 pm

Here the boys come, Californina. Now, I am a little biased considering CA is home to my family. (I lived there until I was 13.) I never considered California to be one of the great Nascar venues, and the lacking sales and empty seats will be more proof of that come Sunday. With that being said the show must go on. Who is going to dominate this weekend?? (more…)
